About
The Geodynamics Liberation Front is an outreach organization that exposes students and the general public to scientific concepts, using the Earth and Earth processes as a tool to teach science, technology, engineering, arts and math. The name comes from geophysics, and so do many of the projects. The rest come from wherever curiosity leads.

The picture of the day
The photograph behind the front page changes every day. It is chosen from the day's most popular posts on r/EarthPorn, a community of landscape photographers, by a small program that looks for a large, not too wide, and dark enough picture. The photographer is credited in the corner of the front page, with a link to the original post, and the previous days' pictures can be paged through there too.
How this site is built
The site lives in its own repository. A list of published projects names each project's repository. When the site is built, every project is checked out at the tip of its main branch, built with its own build steps, and placed under /projects/. The projects page records which commit each was built from, so what you see here is always the most recent published version.
